The 6th annual KAT-Walk and the 3rd annual Karo-5K will be held on September 13, 2014 around Back Cove Boulevard in Portland, at noon.
September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness month. KAT-Walk is in memory of Portland native, Kimberly Ann Tudor and Karo-5K run is in memory of Scarborough native, Karolina A. Kurka. Both young ladies passed away from a sudden ruptured brain aneurysm. The event is organized by a group of committed volunteers that seek to remember and honor their loved ones lost to or having survived a brain aneurysm.
The goal is to provide support to the brain aneurysm community in Maine and raise public awareness regarding early detection and treatment of brain aneurysms. Funds raised benefit the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
