Maine Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)

Who We Are

Maine CASAs are everyday people who speak up for a child involved in Maine's child welfare system. The CASA is a child advocate or a Guardian ad litem (GAL) for a child. As a GAL the CASA conducts an investigation and advises the court on what is in the child's best interest. Maine CASA provides free training to eligible applicants and staff attorneys provide advice and support 24/7 to volunteers. If you are interested visit our website at www.casaofmaine.org, call us at 207-287-5403 or email us at casa@maine.org and we will answer all your questions. If you want a life changing experience advocating for a child apply to become a CASA volunteer.

What We Do

Maine CASA recruits, trains and supervises volunteers who serve as child advocates or Guardians ad litem for children whose parents are involved with the child welfare system. Part of the Maine Judicial Branch for over 20 years.
