The Maine Department of Education is looking for people around the state to volunteer to become Educational Surrogate Parents.
An educational surrogate parent is responsible for making sure that students (typically special education students in residential placements), who have no available parents, are getting all of the special education services that they need from the school. (This is not tutoring)
It doesn't take a lot of time and the reward in knowing that you helped a special education student with their education is so worth it.
