Join Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program this summer to feed hungry children in the Greater Brunswick Area! We are looking for motivated and energetic individuals to join our staff as full-time summer volunteers. The position includes a stipend and education award (more information below) and supports our Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer Food Service Program is a USDA-funded program that provides free meals to children, no questions asked, at participating locations like Curtis Memorial Library, Perryman Village, and others!

Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, in partnership on the AHOC AmeriCorps VISTA program, is seeking a qualified candidate to:
- Assist in the implementation, access, and quality of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
- Expand educational opportunities at sites regarding the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) benefit programs.
This is a short-term, full-time position beginning May 30 and lasting through August 7, 2015. You are expected to be available for the needs of your community and project at all times, including days, nights and weekends. Because AmeriCorps VISTA service requires a full immersion in the project and community, both full and part-time employment are strictly prohibited - no exceptions - as well as adhere to some political and religious constraints. This position requires one to be 18 years or older, a reliable vehicle and excellent communication skills. VISTA members will need knowledge of hunger and poverty issues, government benefit programs, and the emergency food system. VISTA members should have experience with or knowledge of volunteerism. VISTA members will need to be highly organized, detail oriented, have strong computer skills, be a flexible, be a team player, and work independently.
You are responsible for finding your own housing. No housing allowance will be provided.
